Intro

It's almost spring and it's not only nature that is very active lately. A lot of Loesje groups are quite busy doing what they do best: making the world a little better by bringing people together and writing cool texts. There are new series from Loesje Belgium, Scotland, Germany, Poland , the Netherlands and Palestine. And there are new posters in Norwegian. Besides more and more people know how to find Loesje. In the Hague more than fifty Poles living in the Netherland visited a Loesje workshop and in Nijmegen people from Estonia, Iran, Finland, Germany, Turkye and Spain came together to write Loesje texts for the first time. They were all very enthusiastic and want to continue with these sessions. So expect more news of this group in the next newsletter. There are also a lot of other things to look forward to, like new writing sessions for International, a board meeting in Belgium, some more poster sticking adventures and of course Summercamp in Slovenia for which you can already register.

If you like to join the next online writing session you can mail sandra@loesje.org

Loesje sticking adventure in Belgium

For several days Loesje went to Belgium to do some serious poster sticking. Of course our friends from Loesje Belgium were all present, the sun was shining big time and so were we  We started in Brussels on International Woman's day and the first poster put on a garbage pin, namely “Sexual liberation / were did we stop last time / the grandma of”, immediately drew a lot of attention. TV Brussels even filmed our poster and asked if they could have one for themselves. Fortunately we didn't have a shortage of them. We were sticking around old buildings, parks, statues, markets and even in the street full embassies. The poster “Confusion of Tongues / I call it European poetry” will surely raise some eyebrows just as we like it. Besides sticking posters there was also time for stories, special drinks and hanging around in old churches and cafés.

When we finally arrived in Gent, we spotted a poster from 1883. Yeah I know. One century too early, but it looked like an old painting. Later on we found out that our Loesje friend from Gent did stick this one some years ago at night. We had a great day in Gent, though we had to escape the police several times, because they were on the hunt for something and the posters were directing them to Loesje people, but we all knew how to behave like tourists, so when the police came we immediately brought out or camera's and took pictures of the old buildings around us.
Oh, and not to forget: In Gent there is one tavern which looks so mysterious that you think you have entered a different age. The owner looks like some old magician who tries to pull you in and will only let you out in a different world. A really cool thing is that he made us stick a lot of Loesje posters in front of his tavern. Not bad hè.

Ok that's it for now but there are more adventures on the horizon.

Making wooden puzzles

Last month Loesje Berlin invited her friends to make jigsaw puzzles and wooden posters. It took a lot of sawing but the results were worth the effort  smiley

The Boardmeeting

Dear people of Loesje International,

We want to invite you to come to Loesje's International Broadmeeting! To be held in Belgium from the 1nd till 4th of May 2014.
Your presence is needed, valuable and of course fun! Please read below for more information. Also, the new board of Loesje International presents itself shortly, at the bottom of this mail.

1. Invitation for Loesje's International Broadmeeting 1-4 May in Belgium
A broadmeeting is broader than only the board. The broadmeeting is for all people who are active in Loesje. This meeting in
particular will be important, as – afters many years of hard work, projects and posters – it is time to reflect on who we want Loesje to be, what we think she should do, and how we'd like her to do it.
What is a Loesje-group?
The main subject on this meeting will be "what is a Loesje group?". This will be discussed among all the Loesje-people who
are present. We signalised that people within Loesje have, or think they have, different views and opinions on what a Loesje-group is.
Therefore it is an important discussion, with the aim to get this clear and all faces heading the same direction.

Discussion points
Three main points on this Broadmeeting will be:
1) What are central activities of Loesje? What might they be, what may not?
2) Which role and attitute should a group have toward Loesje International and other Loesje groups/countries/entities?
F.e. communication, sharing. Does a group/entity need to compy with something? What should Loesje get out of it?
3) How do we deal with eachother? Freedom vs control. Congruence vs. Diversity. Exchanging thoughts on this.
The International Board will facilitate and lead the discussions, and – based on these discussions – formulate an answer and
decision. This will be returned to everybody.

Rough programme
Thursday 1st May: Arrival evening
Friday 2nd May: Start-up discussions and Party
Saturday 3rd May: Discussions and Going to the Belgian beer brewery Achelse Kluis
Sunday 4th May: Departure day with or without a hangover

Where & How to get there
The Broadmeeting will be held in Achel, a Belgium village with a great beer brewery :). Achel is located in the very North of Belgium.
The accommodation is a pretty scouts building in a forest, where we all will sleep aswell.
Achel doesn't have a train station, but buses do stop there! The train station nearest by is that of the Neerpelt (Belgium). From
Neerpelt you take bus number 18-A, get out in Achel. This takes about 20 minutes. From here it is 5 minutes walk. Or take from
Neerpelt bus 84 direction Hamont. Get out in Achel Kerk. From here it is 20 minutes walk to the accommodation. In The Netherlands the train station nearest by, is Valkenswaard. From there take bus number 476 to Achel (takes about 20 minutes). From these it is 5 minutes walk.
We recommand you to check the time-tables: www.nmbs.be (trains) and www.delijn.be (buses).

Name of the accommodation: Chiro Achel (Witte School)
Address: Pastoor Bungenerslaan 1, 3930 Achel (Belgium)

You will need to bring an inflatable mattress and a sleeping bag.
Any questions, please mail: loesje@loesje.org

Costs
Loesje International pays the accommodation. But travel costs and a contribution of 5€ a day for the food/coffee/tea will be your own expenses.

2. Introduction of the Board
Also, we – the new board of Loesje International – would like to take this opportunity to present ourselves to you.

In 2014 the new board of Loesje International has been formed. On board are Max from Germany, Emilia from Poland, Paco from
The Netherlands, Tom from Belgium (secretary) Doeko from The Netherlands (treasurer) and Luder from The Netherlands (chairma). We are going to present ourselves more personally on this coming Broadmeeting, our background within and outside Loesje, perhaps we can also show you some dance moves. If you have any questions for us, you can contact us via board@loesje.org.

Register for Summercamp

The 26th of July till the 5th of August 2014

Already looking forward to Summercamp in Slovenia? If you want to show your enthusiasm you can already register. Loesje found a nice Scout hut surrounded by an ancient forest and there are several caves nearby. One Loesje member from Slovenia told us you can get lost there quite easily. Besides there are many bears and wolves. All the ingredients for a wonderful Summercamp are there. The nearest village has six inhabitants. Let's see if we can invite the whole village to take part in a Loesje activity.

Do you want to sign up. You can find the registration form through the following link:
